The basic rules of the game are not changed, just the number of cards a player is allowed to turn over on their turn.
What you'll need to play:
- Any Memory card deck
- A six-sided die (d6)
How the game is played:
You roll the die on your turn and get to turn over that number of cards. If you get a match you get to roll again. Unlike classic Memory, where players turn up only pairs of cards to see if they match, Gone Fishing requires the addition of a single six-sided die (d6) to determine how many cards a player can turn up to see if they match. Players roll a d6 and the result is the number of cards that can be turned up to make a possible match.
Note that if a player rolls a one, no match is possible.
That’s it, a simple new variation on a classic favorite which can turn into a surprising game.
